Sterling Welcomes Tom Burke as COO

Sterling is pleased to welcome Tom Burke as our new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Clare Hart, CEO of Sterling shared in the announcement to the company, “The role of COO is increasingly critical to our success as we look to strengthen, automate and innovate our organisation everywhere. Tom brings both operational excellence and decisive leadership experience to Sterling. His energetic and collaborative style will help us break down silos and realize our ambitious goals more quickly.”

Tom brings more than 20 years of experience in leading complex, technology-driven organisations to the COO role. Before joining Sterling, Tom was the Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer for three technology companies: StoneRiver Insurance Solutions, RegEd, and Emerald Connect. Hired by private equity owners, Stone Point Capital and Fiserv Inc., his role was to turn these under-performing companies around. Before that, he was SVP and Chief Information Officer at New York Life Insurance and Head of Operations & Technology for Global Consumer Investments at Citigroup.

His experience in leading complex, technology-driven organisations is impressive and Tom will tackle the most critical challenges of the background screening industry including Technology, Operations, Product, Quality, Data Strategy, M&A; Integration and Ventures.

Tom and his team have a focused strategy to deliver for our clients in 2017, including developing global and mobile product platforms, starting the reengineering of our fulfillment platform, delivering increased automation through SmartData and ensuring a positive upgrade experience to SterlingONE.
