Sterling to Sponsor and Present at the In House Recruitment Live! Event

Sterling is excited to be an exhibitor and presenter at the In House Recruitment Live! event at the Business Design Centre in London on 5 September 2017. The In House Recruitment Expo is the first UK exhibition dedicated entirely to In House resourcing teams responsible for sourcing and recruiting candidates within corporate and SME businesses. Attendees of In House Recruitment Live! will learn information on the latest human resources trends such as the candidate experience, social recruiting, tips for attracting the best talent, building a great employer brand, new technologies that will help the recruiting process and how to stay compliant with employment laws and the changes coming due to the GDPR. There are seminars and master classes lead by HR experts, networking opportunities and an industry trade show.

Steve Smith of Sterling will be presenting “Social Media Background Screening: Risks and Rewards” on Tuesday, September 5th at 10 am. According to the 2015 Recruiter Nation Survey, 92% of recruiters are leveraging social media in the recruiting process. With 56% saying some of their best candidates are sourced through social networks, it’s important to fully understand the limitations and liabilities when using social media in the background screening phase of recruitment. Steve’s presentation will answer the many questions about social media screening including:

  • Who you should include in a social media background search and why
  • What a thorough social media and online background search includes and how it can reduce the risk for negligent hiring
  • How to ensure compliance by ensuring what information you can, and cannot, consider in your hiring decision
